Beth Bluett
Beth, originally from Sydney, Australia, earned an international scholarship at 17 to
study in Cannes, France, touring cities like Monte Carlo, Paris, and Brussels, and
even performing in a musical film in London. At 18, she became a soloist and won an
international ballet competition in France. A knee injury ended her time in
professional ballet, leading her to seek treatment in London and attend the Royal
Ballet School. After recovering, she returned to Australia to join a regional affiliate of
the Australian Ballet performing notable roles such as Queen of the Willis in Giselle
and a leading swan in Swan Lake.
Later in her teaching career, Beth developed a Christian Dance Curriculum called
Living Dance International, which gained global recognition and she has taught this
around the world. She is supported by Sandra Godde (examiner in Australia) and
Jacomi du Plessis and Sue Hodson (teacher trainers and examiners in South Africa).
Beth now conducts teacher seminars and examinations online, especially since
COVID. She has also performed professionally as a contemporary dancer and a
prophetic worship dancer on special occasions.
WORKSHOP: Finding Your ‘Centreline’
Her workshop is going to introduce postural concepts to enable ballet dancers and
students, achieve virtuoso technique without the normal injuries associated with
classical ballet. It is in harmony with how the body was created, so is also suited to
contemporary dancers and teachers.
