ICDF Diploma of Dance Ministry – introductory course booklet (supplied)
by Mary Jones and Liesl Townsend
The ICDF Diploma in Ministry Introductory Course is an amalgamation of a course that Liesl Townsend has taught in the Christian Dance Fellowship of South Africa and a manual that was written by Mary Jones with members of the Christian Dance Fellowship of Australia which was published in 1988. This was the year that CDF Australia organised the International Conference which resulted in the formation of the International Christian Dance Fellowship (ICDF). The material from the Manual was used in the dance degree at Wesley Institute in Sydney and in the ICDF Diploma of Dance Ministry that started as an online course in 2010. This new course, consisting of the theory in this manual plus practical work, was developed for the ICDF international gathering that is held every three years. It has been accepted as part of the ICDF Diploma as an introductory course which would be taught face to face rather than online, with attendees receiving a Certificate of Completion. It is hoped that some of the participants would then go on to apply for the ICDF Diploma in Dance Ministry as online students where there would be more opportunity for in-depth study and practical application.
